Linear ticket linking is enabled per organization. If you don’t see Linear in project settings, it isn’t enabled for your workspace.
Connect the organization’s Linear workspace
1
Open organization integrations
Open Manage organization → Integrations.
2
Connect the Linear workspace
Have an organization owner or admin connect or reconnect the workspace through OAuth. One workspace serves the whole Lemma organization, and a given Linear workspace can only belong to one Lemma organization at a time.
Set project defaults
1
Open project Linear settings
Open the project’s Settings → Linear.
2
Choose team and optional project
Select a default Linear team, required before ticket creation works, and optionally a Linear project under that team.
Map your personal identity
Each Lemma member who wants tickets assigned to them personally verifies their own Linear identity from Account → Profile → Connected accounts. This is separate from the organization’s workspace connection, and Lemma doesn’t expose a directory, so you can only map your own account, not pick someone else’s. Ordinary issue assignment inside Lemma doesn’t write to Linear. Combined assignment only happens when you create a ticket and choose an eligible, already-mapped Lemma member; that single action assigns both the Lemma issue and the new ticket. Any other ticket creation defaults to unassigned, and API keys or other non-human principals have no personal mapping at all.Create, link, and unlink tickets
A Lemma issue can have at most one active Linear ticket, and a Linear ticket can back at most one active Lemma issue. From there:- Create a ticket explicitly, one issue at a time, using the project’s team and project defaults. Lemma writes a safe summary and a link back to the issue, never raw prompts or tool output.
- Link to an exact Linear URL or identifier, with a preview and confirmation step. There’s no workspace-wide browsing or backfill.
- Unlink explicitly when you need to replace a link; unlink first, then create or link again.
How ticket status stays in sync
- Recurrence: never creates, reopens, or replaces a ticket on its own.
- Reopen from matching evidence: if a resolved issue reopens, Lemma comments once on the already-completed ticket instead of reopening it. Matching evidence never reopens a dismissed issue.
- Dismiss: requests cancellation of the active ticket. A Linear
completedstatus resolves the Lemma issue;canceledonly updates the cached snapshot. - Manual reopen: reopening an issue in Lemma never alters the linked ticket.
